My Russia – Surgut
I live in Russia. It is a beautiful country with many rivers and lakes in it. I know such rivers as the Ob-river, Volga, Lena, Moscow, Ishim, Miasss, Kama, and Engoda. I know such lakes as Baikal, Ladoga, Onega, Taimyr. Baikal is a very famous lake. Lake Baikal is 636 km long and 80 km wide. It is the biggest world fresh-water reservoir. The water is clear. You can see the bottom of the lake through 30-40 m of water.
I know many Russian towns and cities: Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Kislovodsk, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, Surgut. The capital of Russia is Moscow. This is a very old and at the same time modern city. This city originated in 1147 when Yuri Dolgoruki founded it.
I live in a small Siberian town Surgut. It is one of many towns in the North of Russia. Our town is very famous as the oil and gas capital of Russia. There are many streets and beautiful parks in Surgut. My town is located in the special forest named Taiga. I know what the Taiga is. Taiga is the thick forest with a lot of dark pine, fir and cedar trees. Many species of wildlife live there.
The longest river in my country is Volga. This river is the longest in Europe! I know that in Russia there are many mountains, too. Mount Elbrus, in the Caucasus mountain range, is the highest peak in the country.
Our town Surgut is not far from the Urals.
I realy like my country Russia and I’m very patriotic!
