"What Do You Know about the USA and the UK?"

Викторина составлена для учащихся 8 класса, но адаптируется для учащихся других классов.
Цель: создание условий для активизации и проверки знаний учащихся по теме “Англо-говорящие страны”.
ПРАВИЛА ПРОВЕДЕНИЯ ИГРЫ
Игра проходит в три этапа:
1. Работа в командах – каждая команда отвечает на столько вопросов, сколько в команде участников).
Один из участников выбирает номер вопроса (Приложение 1), и только он имеет право на него ответить. Каждый правильный ответ – 1 балл (жетон).
Продолжительность игры одной команды – 1 минута.
Задача команды – ответить на максимальное количество вопросов за это время.
После того, как все члены одной команды выбрали себе вопросы и ответили на них, ход переходит другой команде. Игра идет до трех раундов, в зависимости от сложности вопросов, чтобы дать командам возможность набрать очки. В третьем раунде игра усложняется тем, что те участники, которые уже принесли командам очки, лишаются права отвечать на вопросы, для того чтобы всем предоставить равные возможности.
Полученные баллы суммируются, чтобы определить команду победителя.
2. Игра с победителями команд (теми, кто принес командам призовые очки).
Игра напоминает популярную игру “Кто хочет стать миллионером?” Участники игры должны ответить максимум на 15 вопросов.
В распоряжении игроков есть три подсказки:
• “50 на 50” (fifty-fifty)
• “помощь класса” (class)
• “помощь учебника” (book).
Все одновременно отвечают на вопросы, выбирая вариант ответа.
Игра с победителями командного тура продолжается до двух раундов.
По сумме баллов определяются финалисты, т.е. те, кто набрал максимальное количество баллов.
3. Блиц-игра с победителями второго этапа
В течение одной минуты участникам необходимо разгадать предложенные ребусы.

4. Абсолютный победитель определяется по сумме баллов второго и третьего этапа.
Награждение: Желательно наградить победителей каждого этапа.
Начало каждого этапа: Можно провести жеребьевку.
На первом этапе можно предложить капитанам команд назвать изображенную на картине или фотографии достопримечательность.
На втором и третьем этапе каждый отвечает за себя. Здесь главное быстрее и правильнее других ответить на вопросы.
Общее время, затраченное на проведение игры между двумя командами в количестве 9 человек, составило 40 минут. Желательно иметь 2-3 помощников (можно из числа учеников): один отвечает за время, второй (третий) фиксирует правильные ответы и раздает жетоны.
После проведения игры можно предложить участникам проанализировать процедуру проведения, внести свои предложения.

1. The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4th, 1776. It announced the birth of a new nation, and set forth a philosophy of human freedom.
2. The flag of the US is called Stars and Stripes (the 13 stripes on the Flag represent the original 13 states; each of the fifty stars represent one of the states). Another nickname is Old Glory.
