The Pull-Along Duck
A. The next morning, a little girl found him. She took him home, dried with a towel and put him back into the toy box. When the little Blue Monkey heard the Duck’s story about his adventure, she promised to take him out to the garden to swim round and round in the pond.
B. Then one night a child left the Pull-Along Duck outside in the garden by mistake. At night there was a great thunderstorm. It rained so hard that the lawn was soon under water.
C. The little Pull-Along Duck lived in his toy box. “I was never in a pond or river,” he said with a tear in his eyes. “I don’t even know if I can swim!” “All ducks can swim,” said his friend the Blue Monkey in a kind voice. “I’m sure if you go swimming you will be the best swimmer of all!”
D. To his great surprise, the Pull-Along Duck went across the garden and straight into the pond. Suddenly he began to swim round and round. The little wooden duck was delighted. He had such fun – and he was so happy to find out that he could swim like other ducks.
