Jazz Up Your Lesson
Have you ever thought of a link between the English language and Geography? That can be an exciting and extremely useful experience, trust me! Your students may practice their skills in the foreign language together with filling the gaps in their knowledge of Geography (if any, of course!)
So here you can find some activities to help your students display their knowledge in Geography, learn something new in English, practice group work, as well as just have fun!
Activity 1:
“Geography Guessing Game”
How to play:
Divide your students in groups of three or four. Give the following table to each group and set the time limit (approximately – 3 minutes). Within this period of time the group should fill in all the gaps of the table. The first one to complete it all is the winner.

Activity 2:
“Country Guessing Game”
How to play:
Let every student think of some country and describe it not directly, but using some information about its culture, music, costumes, traditions and customs, holidays, famous people who were born there, etc.
Then ask any student to volunteer being the first to tell others about his or her country and others should guess. The one who guesses correctly is the next one to describe the country.
Activity 3:
“Sharing game”
How to play:
Just ask your students in advance to bring pictures of the places they have been to. Then you may arrange a nice little talk about their adventures or let the students guess the places in the pictures.
