In the Very Heart of School No. 1245

Customs and traditions are an important part of our school life. Some school’s events are being remembered for many years. For example, New Year’s Party, the First of September, St. Valentine’s Day, and others.
The New Year’s party in our school is performed in the following way: a performance for the elementary and secondary schools and a dancing party for the upper classes. The teachers of our school deserve special mention. They, who are tired after a difficult half-year, lessons and checking of copybooks, create a nice performance for the kids. So we have a new fairy tale each year, cheerful and magical. This school year we watched a staged version of a Schwartz play and a famous film “Ordinary magic (Obyknovennoe chudo)”. The students of the 8th form performed in it. They showed professional skills of acting, dancing, singing and fencing and pushed themselves to their limits.
St. Valentine’s Day celebrating is very popular in our school. Pupils write their valentine cards in advance and after it put them into a special mail-box. Children who are selected to carry the cards do it. You can send your valentine card to your friends. And, of course, you should send it to your boyfriend or girlfriend, if you have one.

The history of our school is rich in traditions. One of the most important of school No. 1245 traditions is our careful and considerable attitude towards the veterans of World War II. Each year veterans visit our school to tell us about their feats of arms, war merits, to describe the hardships of the wartime. Their stories are very instructive for us, young people, who live in the 21st century.
Also our school is proud of the winners of Olympiads, sport tournaments and recital competitions.
So if you want to come to be in the very heart of our school’s life, just join our efforts to keep school traditions.
