1. Here is the extract from the dialogue which has a few missing
gaps. Fill the gaps with the questions.
Martin phoned Veronica
M.: Hi, Vicky! (1)_________________?
V.: Hello, I’m quite well, thanks! (2)_________________?
M.: Very well. (3)_________________?
V.: Well, tomorrow I’m free all day long. (4)______________?
M.: I’m asking this because I’ve got an idea to invite you
to the picnic in our garden. (5)_________________?
V.: Oh, thanks a lot. (6)_________________?
M.: I think, my friend John, you know, a designer, his wife
Emma, of course, and a few our neighbors. (7)_______________?
V.: Yeah! I know the Simpletons family. I remember Jessica gave
me duck sautй recipe last year. (8)______________?
M.: Yes, I’ve invited them. (9)_________________?
V.: She’s all right, I hope. She actually phoned me last week.

M.: Oh, Vicky, it’s not necessary, we’ll buy a lot of

2. Make up your own dialogues.
Hints: an engagement party in the garden; all the relatives have
been invited; bring some new records (CDs); take the guitar; ask about your friend’s
parents.
3. Make a list of questions you may ask your friends at the
party. In pairs, role play these dialogues.
