Expedition to the North Pole
Театрализованное представление
Rabbit’s cousin: It’s a fine day. Where’s Pooh? He stumped
up to the top of the forest to see if his friend Christopher Robin was interested in Bears
at all.
Rabbit’s brother: I know. At breakfast this morning he had
suddenly thought of a new song. It begins like this:
Pooh:
Sing Ho! For the life of a bear!
Sing Ho! For the life of a bear!
I don’t much mind if it rains or snows.
‘Cos I’ve got a lot of honey on my nice new nose,
I don’t much care if it snows or thaws,
‘Cos I’ve got a lot of honey on my nice clean paws!
Rabbit’s cousin: Let’s find Christopher Robin. Oh,
Christopher Robin, why are you sitting outside your door?
Rabbit’s brother: Why are you putting on these Big Boots? Is
an adventure going to happen?
Pooh: Good morning, Christopher Robin.
Christopher Robin: Hello, Pooh Bear. I can’t get this boot on.
Rabbit’s cousin: Let’s help you.
Author: Pooh sat down, dug his feet into the ground, and pushed
hard against Christopher Robin’s back, and Christopher Robin pushed hard against his,
and Rabbit’s relatives helped them, they pulled and pulled until Christopher Robin had
got his big boot on.
Pooh: And that’s that.
Rabbit’s cousin: What do we do next?
Christopher Robin: We are going on an Expedition.
Rabbit’s brother: Where are we going on this expedition?
Christopher Robin: We are going to discover… We are going to
discover…the South Pole.
A song “Go south, go north”
Part 1
In the summer
When the weather is hot.
We wear shorts and T-shirts on the beach
And we swim in the sea.
But where can we run to see the sun?
Oh where can we run to see the sun?
Go south; go south where the weather is hot.
Go south to the sun with me.
Go south; go south where the weather is hot.
Go south to the sun with me.
Pooh: Wow, hot! It’s impossible. I can’t join this
exposition.
Rabbit: Sorry. Just a minute. It’s not an exposition. It’s
an expedition.
Roo: Besides, don’t be nervous. It’s extremely cold on the
South Pole.
Kanga: That doesn’t matter. Pooh knows if it’s hot at the
South Pole. I believe Pooh.
Roo: No problem, let’s have an exposition to the North Pole.
Pooh: Hallo, Rabbit, is that you?
Rabbit: Let’s pretend it isn’t. And see what happens.
Owl: I’ve got a message for you. Christopher Robin is going on
an exposition with all his friends.
Rabbit: Poor owl! Haven’t you heard? It’s not an exposition.
It’s an expedition.
A song “Go south, go north”
Part 2
In the winter
When the weather is cold.
We wear coats and hats in the park
And we play in the snow.
But where can we go to see the snow?
Oh where can we go to see the snow?
Go north; go north where the weather is cold.
Go north to the snow with me.
Go north; go north where the weather is cold.
Go north to the snow with me.
Christopher Robin: You aren’t right. That’s what an
expedition means. A long line of everybody. You’d better tell the others to get ready,
while I see if my gun’s all right. And we must all bring provisions.
Roo: Bring what?
Rabbit: Things to eat. And we’ve got to bring pro... things to
eat with us. In case we want to eat them. Now I’m going to Piglet’s. Tell Gopher. Will
you?
Author: Rabbit left the company and hurried down to Piglet’s
house. He wanted to be the first to tell Piglet about this great expedition.
Roo: Gopher, Gopher, wake up, wake up!
Gopher: Don’t disturb me. I usually sleep during the day.
What’s the matter?
“It’s time to get up,” cried Roo.
“It’s time to get up,” cried he.
But how can he tell?
There isn’t a bell.
He can’t tell the time.
There isn’t a chime.
He can’t hear tick-tock.
There isn’t a clock.
Kanga: Will you join our expedition? We need a lot of
provisions.
Gopher: Provision? Provision I…. have nothing. My hole is
empty. I’ve got a stomachache. Oh, This carrot… It’s not mine. Sorry, bye.
Christopher Robin: Let’s go to Mother’s kitchen. She’s got
a lot of tasty things.
Everybody has found something. They cry: I’ve found…
A song “I love chocolate”
Christopher Robin: I drink milk.
Rabbit: I eat cheese.
Rabbit’s cousin: I like nuts.
Rabbit’s brother: And I like greens.
Owl: I like cereals.
Roo: I like beans.
Christopher Robin: These are things my body needs.
Pooh:
But late at night
Under my bedclothes
I eat chocolate
And no-one knows.
Christopher Robin: I eat vegetables.
Rabbit: I drink juice.
Rabbit’s cousin: I like rice.
Rabbit’s brother: And I like fruit.
Owl: I like cereals.
Roo: I like pasta every way.
Christopher Robin: I eat good things every day.
Pooh:
But late at night
Under my bedclothes
I eat chocolate
And no-one knows.
Christopher Robin: I like honey on my bread.
Rabbit: I like salad.
Rabbit’s cousin: And I like eggs.
Rabbit’s brother: I drink water all day long.
Owl: All these things.
Roo: Make me strong.
Pooh:
But late at night
Under my bedclothes
I eat chocolate
And no-one knows.
Mother: Why are you so noisy? What’s going on? Why have you
taken all these provisions?
Owl: I know I know. They are going to find the North Pole. But I
don’t know where it is. And they don’t know where it is. And they don’t know how
they can go there. Whom can we ask?
Mother: Eeyore, of course. He’s a real philosopher. He is the
oldest in our enchanted forest. He knows everything about everything. He certainly knows
where the North Pole is.
Which way should you go?
Maybe the way the wind blows?
And where does he go?
He runs over the water,
He runs over the snow.
From what place he comes,
To what place he goes.
There’s no-one can tell you.
There’s no-one who knows.
Eeyore: I believe I know. I’m not sure but I believe that I
know. But… Christopher Robin, I don’t want the others to hear.
Christopher Robin: Quite so. Go away for a minute, please. What
does the North Pole look like?
Eeyore: You ask me? I did know once but I’ve sort of
forgotten.
Christopher Robin: Wow, here is Piglet. I suppose you know where
the North Pole is.
Piglet: It’s a funny thing. I don’t know where it is but I
know how we can get there.
If I had a ship.
I’d sail my ship,
I’d sail my ship
Through Northern seas:
Eeyore:
Down to a beach where the slow waves thunder –
The green curls over and the white falls under –
Boom! Boom! Boom!
On the white bright snow.
Piglet:
And there would I rest, and lie,
My chin in my hands and gaze
At the dazzle of snow below,
And the green waves curling slow,
And the grey-blue distant haze
Where the sea goes up to the sky…
Christopher Robin: Come on.
Pooh: Come on.
Piglet: Come on.
Owl: Come on.
Rabbit: We are starting. I must go.
Eeyore: All right. We are going. Only don’t blame me.
Author: So off they all went to discover the Pole. And as they
walked, they chattered to each other of this and that, all except Pooh who was making a
song.
Pooh: They all went off to discover the Pole.
Owl: Owl,
Piglet: And Piglet,
Rabbit: And Rabbit and all.
Christopher Robin: It’s a thing you discover, as I’ve been
told.
Owl: By Owl,
Piglet: And Piglet,
Rabbit: And Rabbit and all.
Eeyore: Eeyore,
Christopher Robin: Christopher Robin,
Pooh: And Pooh
Rabbit’s brother and rabbit’s cousin: And Rabbit’s
relations all went, too.
Kanga: And where the Pole was none of them knew…
Roo: Sing Hey!
Owl: For Owl,
Rabbit: For Rabbit,
Pooh: And all.
Author: Suddenly Christopher Robin saw at once how dangerous it
was. It was just the place to stop and think. The route was too dangerous. The Pole was
too far.
Christopher Robin: I don’t know what to do. If I can ask mum.
I’ll follow her advice.
Mother:
I never did, I never did, I never did like,
“Now take care, dear!”
I never did, I never did, I never did want,
“Hold my hand”;
I never did, I never did, I never did think much of
“Not up there, dear!”
It’s no good saying it. You clearly understand.
Kanga: The advice is nice but where’s our destination?
Rabbit’s brother: What a wonderful flower! Who are you?
Daffodil:
I wear my yellow sun-bonnet,
I wear my greenest down,
I turn to the south wind,
And curtsy up and down.
I turn to the sunlight
And shake my yellow head,
And whisper to my neighbour:
“Winter is dead.”
Rabbit’s cousin: Help us, please. We are looking for the North
Pole.
Daffodil: I suppose it’s just a pole stuck in the ground?
Owl: Sure to be a Pole.
Rabbit: Only one thing. Where is it sticking?
Pooh: Oh! What’s this? I don’t understand.
Rabbit: I don’t know.
Author: But Christopher Robin wasn’t listening. He was looking
at Pooh.
Christopher Robin: Pooh, where did you find this pole?
Pooh: I just found it. I thought it ought to be useful. I just
picked it up.
Ro: The expedition is over! You have found the North Pole.
Eeyore: As I expected. Lost all ideas. Well, as long as nobody
minds, I suppose it’s all right. I may go home.
Author: They stuck the pole in the ground, and Christopher Robin
tied a message on it.
North Pole. Discovered by Pooh. Pooh found it. |
Author: Then they all went home again. And I
think, but I’m not quite sure, that Roo had a hot bath and went straight to bed.
Piglet: Sorry, but I can’t leave the North Pole. I will stand
guard. Or shall I lie guard? Let’s complete my last poem
I’m talking to a rabbit… I’m talking to the sun…
I think I’m a hundred – I’m one.
I’m lying in a forest… I’m lying in a cave.
I’m talking to a polar bear. I’m brave.
I’m lying on my left side… I’m lying on my right.
I want to say “Good night.”
A song “Say good-bye”
Say good-bye, good-bye,
Say good-bye, good-bye,
Say good-bye, good-bye,
Say good-bye, good-bye.
