I decided to interview young people about the factors
they take into account in choosing a future profession.
Fifty boys and fifty girls were asked: “What is important in choosing a future
career?”
As we found out, both boys and girls want to have a profession that suits their interests
and also gives them satisfaction.
Some of them want to have a socially important job. In their opinion, money is one of the
most important factors when they make a choice.
“I’m not materialistic, but I’d like to have a well-paid job,” said Ksenya, 14.
Promotional prospects and conditions are considered to be important, too. Boys are more
interested in their career prospects than girls are. A few boys and girls dream to have a
job connected with travelling. And all students hope that, thanks to their personal
qualities and abilities, they will be successful in their work. “If I work hard at
school and the institute, I’ll be a qualified specialist and make a lot of money. But I
want to make my money honestly”, said Nikita, 14.
