Одним из способов повышения интереса к
предмету “иностранный язык” являются так
называемые нетрадиционные уроки. К таким урокам
можно отнести урок-конкурс в 8-ом классе по теме
“Great Britain and Its People at a Glance”, урок-смотр знаний в 10
классе по теме “There is No Place Like Home”. (Unit “How Different the
World Is!”)
Как показывает опыт работы, такие уроки,
посвященные страноведческой тематике,
способствуют поддержанию у школьников интереса
к изучению иностранного языка,
совершенствованию речевых навыков и умений,
обогащению учащихся новой информацией о стране
изучаемого языка, развивают познавательную
активность учащихся. Уроки в форме игры,
соревнования, викторины, конкурса всегда
привлекательны, они помогают активизировать
ранее усвоенный материал, закрепить
приобретенные учащимися умения и навыки.
Стремление помериться своими силами, проверить
знания в соревновании с друзьями, возможность
узнать что-то новое придают таким урокам
осознанно мотивированный характер.
ХОД УРОКА
Учитель: Good afternoon, boys and girls! I’m sure that
you are full of energy and ready to have some fun. Do you like to play? That’s very
nice. You are sure to know all the words on the topic: “Great Britain and Its People at
a Glance”. Games, puzzles, riddles are waiting for you. I want to divide you into two
teams. Each team should create the name of the team. Who will be the winner today? Who
knows the material on the topic best of all?
Task 1: VOCABULARY
A. Review the words on the topic “Great Britain and Its People,
the British Character”. (Pupils should say the words in turn. The one who says the last
word gets a point for his/her team .)
B. Demonstrate the character trait without words. You should only
act. All the rest should guess the word.
Task 2: ABC-TEST
A. Write as many words as you can about British people and Great
Britain. (Pupils should write the words beginning with each letter of the English
alphabet.)
