Say “No” to Terrorism

Nowadays the theme of fighting terrorism is very popular all over the world. And a lot of very clever men and women discuss a very important problem: how does a good person turn into a terrorist? In their view, if they find the answer to that question, they can root out terrorism. Many of them think that wealthy countries, not wishing to share their wealth with poor ones, force those living in poverty to go to terrorist training camps. But this opinion is wrong.

Let’s think, is a terrorist camp the sole place where a person can acquire knowledge about, for example, explosives? If he/she wants to know how to make a bomb, where can they find the necessary information? Some people think such data is to be found in the Internet. But in fact you don’t need the Internet at all. If I were a potential terrorist, I would take school textbooks on chemistry and physics; and I will surely find out what I want. In the biology textbook I’ll find information about dangerous viruses which is useful too.

So my point of view is that we should not be surprised at the number of terrorists increasing. Every classroom is a training camp. So those who want children to attend school themselves create terrorists. And if we want to win the war against terrorism, a lot of changes should be made in the system of education. If we want to make our homes, offices, and countries safe, we should remember that we see potential terrorists going to their training camps every day. There they will have lessons in physics and chemistry. Fortunately, many kids find those subjects to be boring and don’t listen to their teachers. But there are others, who consider whether the knowledge they acquire in those lessons may be of practical use. They find the way to terrorism. So if we want to say “No” to terrorism, we should, at first, fight against physics and chemistry in our schools.
