“Desert Island”
Aim: speaking
Language: imagination, fun
Level: beginners, intermediate
Time: 10-15 minutes
“Imagine you are on a desert island in the Atlantic Ocean. You have
only a dress and that is all. There is food and water on the island but nothing else. Here
is a list of things you may find useful. Choose the most useful things from your point of
view.”
a box of matches, a mirror, a map, a radio, a camera, a saucepan, a
knife, a blanket, a tent, a watch, a pencil, a paper, aspirin, a gun
Students work in pairs for about 6-8 minutes. After that they read the
lists of words they have chosen.
ex. We need a box of matches to make a fire.
ex. We need a map to find the place where we are.
ex. We need a saucepan to cook.
I think this game practices interactive language because the students agree or disagree
and compare things. |
