УРОК-ПРАЗДНИК "CHRISTMAS"

Teacher: Britons and the Americans celebrate Christmas on December 25. Christmas is a religious holiday and one of the happiest holidays of the year, because it is the day when the Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Usually they prepare for Christmas before the event. They buy gifts for their family and friends. They choose a tree and decorate it with ornaments and lights. And they prepare special food and cookies.
Christmas is also the day when Santa Claus visits the families and brings presents in bright paper and ribbons. He brings them on Christmas Eve, the night before Christmas, when they are sleeping. How does he get into their house? He climbs down the chimney and leaves the presents under the Christmas tree. In the morning they open their presents together and then they go to church. People wish a “Merry Christmas!” to each other.
People sing special Christmas songs or carols.
Lets’s sing a song “Silent night”.

Зажигаются свечи, все поют хором.

Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright,
Round your virgin, mother and child,
Holy infant, so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight.

Pupil 1: The birth of Jesus Christ was as follows:
His mother was Mary. She was found with the child of the Holy Spirit. An angel of the Lord appeared to her husband Joseph in a dream, saying: “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. The child is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bear a son and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
Pupil 2: Now all this took place that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying: “Behold, the Virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name “Immanuel”, which translated means “God with us”.
Все повторяют хором и поют на разные голоса 4 раза “God with us”. Исполняется танец в самодельных светло-голубых марлевых костюмах; на костюмах бумажные аппликации с изображением Иосифа, Марии и Младенца, голубей и звезды. Танец длится 1,5 минуты, музыку ученики сочиняют самостоятельно.
Pupil 3: And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded to him, and took her as his wife and be called His name Jesus.
Все хором произносят имя Иисуса – 3 раза. На листе ватмана красочно написано имя Jesus. Сверкает звезда. Входят в костюмах Иосиф и Мария с Младенцем на руках.
Pupil 4: Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, Magi from the East arrived in Jerusalem saying;
Восходит звезда, появляются волхвы и хором спрашивают:
Pupil 5: “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the East, and has come to worship Him.”
Царь Ирод собирает первосвященников и книжников народных.
Pupil 6: And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, Herod began to inquire of them where the Christ was to be born.
Pupil 5 (Herod): Where was the Christ to be born?
Pupil 7: “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it has been written by the prophet.
Восьмой ученик в костюме пророка читает написанное на листе ватмана крупными буквами:
Pupil 8: “And you, Bethlehem, Land of Judah, are by no means least among the leaders of Judah;
For out of you shall come forth a ruler, who will shepherd my people Israel.”
Девятый ученик в костюме Ирода (замена пятого ученика) тайно призывает волхвов.
Pupil 10: Then Herod secretly called the Magi, and ascertained from them the time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said: “Go and make when you have found Him, report to me, that I too may come and worship Him.”
Pupil 11: And having heard the King, they went their way; the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them, until it came and stood over where the Child was.
Ученик исполняющий роль звезды движется к месту, где лежит Младенец.
Pupil 12: And when they saw the Star, they rejoiced with great joy.
Pupil 13: And they came into the house and saw the Child with Mary, His mother; and they fell down and worshiped Him; and opening their treasures they presented to Him gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh. (Несут самодельные подарки.)
Pupil 14: And having been warned by God in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed for their own country by another way.
Pupil 15: Now when they have departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying.
Шестнадцатый ученик в одежде ангела:
Pupil 16: Arise and take the Child and His mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is searching for the Child to destroy Him.”
Pupil 17: And he arose and took the Child and His mother by night, and departed for Egypt. And was there until the death of Herod, that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying.
Восемнадцатый ученик в костюме пророка:
Pupil 18: Out of Egypt did I call My Son.
Pupil 19: Then when Herod saw that he had been tricked by the Magi, he became very enraged, and sent and slew all the male children, who were in Bethlehem and in all it’s environs from two years he had ascertained form the Magi.
Pupil 20: Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying;
Двадцать первый ученик в костюме пророка:
Pupil 21: A voice was heard in Ramah, Weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; And she refused to be comforted, Because they were no more.
Pupil 22: But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying;
Двадцать третий ученик в костюме ангела Господня:
Pupil 23: Arise and take the Child and His mother and came into the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child’s life are dead.
Pupil 24: And he arose and took the child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.
Pupil 25: But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he departed for the regions of Galilee.
Pupil 26: And came and resided in a city called Nazareth, that what was spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled.
Все пророки хором:
He shall be called a Nazarene!
Все повторяют эту фразу, а потом поют “Christmas Message”, H.W. Longfellow:
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
После пения все ученики обмениваются рождественскими подарками и открытками с рождественскими пожеланиями, написанными дома. Среди них встречаются и серьёзные и грамотно написанные, и смешные, например:

Christmas Wishes with Love at Christmas
This comes with a wish to add warmth and good cheer
To a happy and bright
Christmas Day –
Then may the new year be the best that you had,
Bringing all of life’s good things your way.
Happy Christmas.

Или вот такая:

A warm Christmas Greeting for you.
Christmas is a magic time when all the worlds in love
With coloured lights and candles bright,
And everywhere you go you see the joy and feel the cheer, the love and laughter, too...
Christmas is a happy time to wish the best for you.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

А есть и такая:

May you be blessed at this Holy Season and throughout the New Year.

И вот такая:

Why don’t you love me?
Love me, please.

Каждый вслух читает свое пожелание – поздравление тому, кому оно предназначено. Все трудности для слушающего объясняет тот, кто написал поздравление.
Учитель внимательно следит за каждой парой поздравляющих друг друга. Все поздравления согласованы и проверены учителем во внеурочное время.
После поздравлений состав участников делится на 5 групп и ведущий в каждой группе тянет карточки с заранее составленными учителем вопросами:

1. When and how do you celebrate Christmas in your family in Russia? (2 мин)
2. Could you translate into Russian this prayer “Our Father”?

Our Father Who art in heaven.
Hallowed be thy name.
The Kingdom come
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, Forever. Amen.

3. Fill in the missing: And after being baptized, Jesus went up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon Him, and behold, ... of the heavens, saying: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am wellpleased” (God; a voice out of the heavens; Spirit of God)
4. How many disciples did Jesus have? Who betrayed him?
5. Why did he come on the earth and what did he give his life for? (He wanted save the sinners)

Выходит учитель и спрашивает, на какие вопросы готовы ответы.
Ученики задают вопросы и отвечают на них, например:

1. You remember where Jesus was born, don’t you?
2. You know who his mother was, don’t you?
3. You know exactly who his father was?
4. what did say an angel of the Lord to Joseph in a dream?

Учитель ставит задачу, чтобы к каждому стиху были поставлены самые разнообразные по грамматической форме вопросы и даны ответы (вопросов должно быть не меньше двадцати).
Задания, разумеется, различны по степени трудности, но ведь и группы различны. Важно, в конце концов, чтобы каждый был полноправным участником праздника и получил удовлетворение от него.
На вопросы отвечают ведущие в группах, которых выбирают участники данной группы. Во время подготовки учениками ответов на вопросы (5 мин) учитель наблюдает, как работают группы и в маленькие конвертики вкладывает пожелания на следующий урок (в зависимости от того, какие ошибки они допускают). Например, повторить “Passive Voice” в одном и “Past Progressive” в другом конверте.
Урок заканчивается тем, что каждый с листом бумаги и ручкой подходит к гостям – родителям и берет интервью о впечатлениях от праздника, а затем новые ведущие групп после коллективного обсуждения говорят, что сказали гости и благодарят присутствующих (листочки с записями сдают учителю).
Учитель благодарит всех участников и в конвертах раздает оценки каждому. При оценке ответов учитываются умение перевоплощаться, владение языком тела.

Вывод, который следует из наблюдений, сводится к тому, что необходимо проявлять предельную осторожность в оценке во взаимоотношениях со своими учениками, не рисковать вызвать их бурный протест. Годы убедили учителя в том, что самое важное – создать такие условия на уроке, чтобы ученики выражали себя как личность наиболее естественным и наилучшим образом.
Самое главное – дать ученику понять, какую важную и необходимую роль он играет на уроке. Это, пожалуй, самое трудное.
Если говорить о процентном качестве, то следует сказать, что 60% учеников на этом уроке показывает хорошие результаты. Следует особо отметить, что ученики проявляют большой интерес к Библии.
